Thanks to all of you wonderful and engaged citizens in Garfield, Moffat, and Rio Blanco Counties who voted for me to return for my fourth and final two year term as your state representative.
Budget: There’s a raging debate coming on how to spend almost half a billion dollars of extra money that resulted from the good news since the November forecast. Should the legislature increase funding for transportation, or education, or put more in reserves for the next downturn?
The Governor’s state of the state address mentioned rural Colorado twenty-seven times. The Denver Post has done an excellent job describing the urban/rural divide. The Legislature’s most significant bill of the 2017 session was titled “Sustainability of Rural Colorado.”
